The New University, campus paper of UC Irvine, is running a story this week in which Janet Napolitano, the UC president, is criticizing the Trump 2018 fiscal year budget proposal because it cuts funding to the Dept. of Education and changes the student loan repayment system.

One would think with all the budget problems surrounding the University of California under Napolitano's tenure and allegations of misuse, she might prefer to keep her silence. A month ago, New University ran this story concerning $175 million in undisclosed funds found in the UC system at a time when tuition hikes were being implemented.

Napolitano and her office are also the subject of an investigation ordered by the Regents concerning allegation of improper interference in state audits. That is also being reported in this week's NU.

So where does Janet Napolitano get off criticizing the President's proposed budget anyway? Seems a tad hypocritical, don't ya think?
