Introducing Professor Jonathan Brown of Georgetown University

Up till now I had been aware of Georgetown University's  Alwaleed bin Talal Center of Islamic Civilization  and Professor John Esposito, a noted apologist for all things Islamic. I had not been aware of Professor Jonathan  Brown. If the below reports are accurate, this guy is....well, just another dime-a-dozen Middle East studies professor who is anti-Israel and anti-West.

The above center at Georgetown University (where much of The Exorcist was filmed) was founded on a multi-million dollar gift from Alwaleed bin Talal, a Saudi multi-billionaire who offered 10 million dollars to New York City after 9-11. As most of you will recall, then-mayor Rudy Giuliani rejected it because Talal made statements to the effect that the attack was in response to our (bad) policies in the Middle East. Georgetown proved not as principled as Giuliani.

The below article was written by a gentleman named Umar Lee. (His bio is at the bottom.) It has some troubling allegations as to things Brown allegedly defended when discussing Islam and slavery.

Also attending-or trying to attend- the lecture was Andrew Harrod. Unfortunately, he was told to leave because Brown didn't like Mr Harrod based on previous writings.

Well, all's well that ends well I always say. Somebody was present to listen and report Brown's words.
