Update on OCC Campus Republicans and Professor Who Berated Trump in Class

When a student at Orange Coast Community College in Orange County, California recorded Professor Olga Perez Stable Cox berating Donald Trump in class and using terms like "terrorist", it got national attention. It appears that the student is facing suspension for violating campus rules about secretly videotaping in class, and the College Republicans, who are defending the student, are taking a lot of heat from the campus lefties.

Below is a link to the OCCCR's Facebook page which brings us up to date on the developments. It also includes a posting by conservative pundit Milo Yiannopoulos defending them.

As I have said before, the professor has a right to say her piece though as a retired teacher, I think it is unprofessional to bring one's personal political views into a classroom and shove them down the students' throats. The college is rightfully concerned over the extremely inflammatory nature of her comments. In the end, I imagine they will uphold her right of free speech while encouraging her to make some sort of statement that she was over the top and offended some in her class.

Most importantly, the College Republicans also have a right to express their views. It is encouraging to see this organization, at least on certain  campuses, stand up boldly for conservative ideals. For too long, many CR chapters were lying low. I  have seen the same encouraging movement at UC Irvine and UC Berkeley. They should be supported.
