"Draining the swamp"

The  University of California, (this time on the Berkeley campus) has been hit with another case of sexual harassment and misconduct by a professor. The professor under fire this time is the chair of the Middle Eastern Studies Department, Nezar AlSayyad. After an investigation by school authorities, AlSayyad has been suspended from teaching the coming semester. He may be on his way out permanently.

It sure is hard to deal with students who are engaged in sexual abuse of fellow students when you have cases (and this is not the only one the UC system is dealing with) where your own professors are engaged in violations. UCLA has been engaged the past year with allegations against Gabriel Piterberg, while Berkeley also had a case involving its law school dean, Sujit Choudary, who resigned this year.

Here is the Daily Cal report.

Inside Higher Education highlights some other Berkeley professors accused of similar transgressions.

What's that expression Donald Trump has been using about "draining the swamp"?

  1. Yeah, speaking of "Draining the Swamp," Mr. Trump seems to be lining up a whole list of Washington inside swamp denizens to run his government for him. Guess he found himself up to his ass in alligators real fast, and decided if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
