Pope Francis I doesn't seem to place a high priority on the plight of Middle East Christians. (Maybe because they are not Catholic?) While churches burn in Egypt and Christians continue to be attacked, the Pope sends one Hell of a message by receiving and embracing the top imam from the Al Azhar Islamic University of Cairo. Gates of Vienna has the story, written by Ashraf Ramelah.

It would be nice if the Pope lent more moral support to President Al Sisi, who is tying to clamp down on the radicals of the Muslim Brotherhood. Just what did he hope to accomplish by meeting with the imam?
Christians in the Middle East desperately need all the help they can get. They don't seem to be getting it from this Pope.
