Hatem Bazian's Islamophobia Conference at UC Berkeley
Hatem Bazian
Who would have any phobias about this?
Cinnamon Stillwell of Campus Watch has a report on last month's Muslim Party Rally at UC Berkeley, also known as the annual Islamophobia Conference, a shindig put on by UCB's professor Hatem Bazian (who has a few phobias of his own). Featured speaker this year was Georgetown's John Esposito, who is one of the nation's biggest apologists for Islamic radicalism.

I don't know how many people bothered to attend this freak show, but if they held it in the Islamophobia Research and Documentation Center at UCB (Barrow Hall room 638), there couldn't have been more than 5 or so because that site is nothing more than a broom closet in a building housing teachers' offices. (Barrows Hall room 638). I know because I have been there.
And how about SFSU's Rabab Abdulhadi, who made the trip across the bay to make an appearance? (Did she actually show up this time-unlike last year at UC Irvine when she failed to materialize when I showed up with my video camera)?
But I guess we have to look at it philosophically: After all, Berkeley wouldn't be Berkeley without events like these.
