Trump's Not My Guy

If Donald Trump wins the Republican nomination, I will hold my nose and vote for him.  However, I think it will be a disaster if he gets the nomination because I don't think he will beat Hillary Clinton. True, there are certain things I like about him, and his candidacy is very refreshing. It is amazing how he verbally swats away his opponents when they try to attack him. I'll bet he was a champ in high school doing those chop fights in which two guys debate the moral faults of each others' mamas. Blacks, I think, call this, "doing the dozens".

Trump says he is going to deport 12 million illegal aliens. Logistically impossible. He says he is going to build the wall and make Mexico pay for it. He may build a wall, but Mexico is not going to pay for it (unless he takes it out of their foreign aid). Today, he says that he will not participate in the upcoming Fox debate in Iowa if Megyn Kelly is on the panel as is scheduled.

Aside from his bullying and his vague promises of how he will be a great this or that, I am not yet convinced that he has really transformed himself into a conservative.  Now he appears on MSNBC's Morning Joe and talks about how well he gets along with Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer. Excuse me, but I don't want a candidate who gets along with those three. I want a candidate who is going to fight them tooth and nail.

What's the term-buying a pig in a poke?

  1. Herr Fouse - something tells me you'd like Trump a little better if Nikki Haley were his VP choice. :) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikki_Haley

  2. Perhaps. I like Nikki Haley. I doubt they would team up.

  3. Trumnp is not a conservative, nor a liberal, he's more like a cross between Larry Flynt and Henry Potter. I think Hailey has better sense than to run with him. Sara Palin might get a second shot at veep though.

  4. Haley won't run with him. As for Palin, I have heard enough from her. I can't stand her speaking style. She has no business being pres or VP.

  5. Well, know, Sarah Palin doesn't have any business being pres or VP, and she didn't in 2008 either. She's a patent opportunist -- before McCain offered her the nomination, she was telling reporters she didn't mind that Barack Obama was doing well in Alaska, and noting that the Republican establishment didn't get along very well with her. But Trump might think she is just his cup of tea. Has a sitting president ever had an affair with a sitting vice president before?
