This image appeared at UC Irvine during a week of anti-Israel events sponsored by the Muslim Student Union in May 2008. I personally saw it and photographed it.
Leila Beckwith is a professor emeritus at UCLA and co-founder of the AMCHA Initiative, an organization founded to combat anti-Semitism on college campuses. Leila is also a friend. In a couple of weeks, the University of California regents will meet and debate a proposal (supported by UC President Janet Napolitano) for the university to adopt the State Department's definition of anti-Semitism. Below, Leila writes an op-ed in the LA Daily News arguing why the regents should vote in favor of the adoption.

Below are three petitions directed to the University of California Regents asking them to adopt the definition. The first is the Stakeholders Petition for anyone associated with the university. If you are a resident of California and paying taxes, you are also a stakeholder. The second is for UC faculty. The third is for attorneys. If you fall into any of the three categories, please add your name. The other side is also collecting signatures for their petitions, and doing so aggressively.

Watch for the MSU to run a campaign associating this definition with Hillary Clinton's tenure at the State Department, heavily quoting Fousesquawk to establish that anything that came out of Hillary's State Department is mendacious and not to be trusted.
ReplyDeleteAnything that came out of Hill's State Dept. WAS mendacious and not to be trusted.
