Madness at UCLA: Free Government Tampons

Hat tip Daily Bruin and Dennis Prager

I first heard about this on Dennis Prager's radio show this morning. The current edition of the Daily Bruin, UCLA's campus paper, is running an op-ed by a student journalist advocating for government-provided tampons. In addition, there is an editorial note at the top acknowledging that not all people who menstruate are women and there are some men who.... Well, you have to read it all to understand just how silly the left has made our universities.

"Editor’s note: This blog post refers to individuals who menstruate as women because the author wanted to highlight gender inequality in health care. We acknowledge that not all individuals who menstruate identify as women and that not all individuals who identify as women menstruate, but feel this generalization is appropriate considering the gendered nature of most health care policies."

That's what I was trying to say.

In all honesty, this young lady makes Sandra Fluke look like a Tea-Partier. Sandra was the gal who wanted the government to pay for her birth control. Now this.

It is getting to the point where the consensus on our university campuses is that the government should pay for everything. Why should we have to pay for it ourselves? How about peanut butter? Shouldn't the government pay for that too? After all, peanut butter is a human right.
