Nixon would be proud.
Subpoenas. Preservation orders. None of it made any difference. The IRS destroyed Lois Lerner's emails, backups and all anyway.

"It's called, 'the perfect crime."
All this and more. I would note that the agency's own IG also testified that Lerner's herd improperly/inappropriately treated the Tea Party and other conservative groups.
ReplyDeleteBUT WAIT!!!!! The IG is a Bush appointee, and therefore MUST be a part of that old "vast wing conspiracy". Probably not a word of truth in anything he says.
We now live in a country that ignores the rule of law. Trust is what the Government wants it to be, because the DoJ will not prosecute the favored politicians that are now in power. Lenin would be very proud.

Ooopsss!!! Meant vast "right" wing conspiracy, of course. Fingers outran brain, a fairly normal occurrence for me.
ReplyDeleteThey're all trying out one version or another of being politically correct.
ReplyDeleteThe Tea Party organizations were entirely appropriate subjects for thorough and detailed scrutiny, whatever Lois Lerner's motivation may have been. (Justice Scalia, I believe, made some eloquent remarks that the law is hardly capable of judging motives, only the legitimacy of the acts committed.)
