Free Speech, Diversity and Inclusion at Berkeley

Hat tip The Daily Californian

Nicholas Dirks, God bless him, is the chancellor at the University of California at Berkeley. Like most chancellors, he is trying to figure out how to deal with the big issues on campus of Free Speech, Diversity and Inclusion.( Education itself comes somewhere after those.)

Now comes Dirks with this letter to the school trying to make sense of it all.

“No man is an island,
Entire of itself,
Every man is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manor of thy friend’s
Or of thine own were:
Any man’s death diminishes me,
Because I am involved in mankind,
And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls;
It tolls for thee.”

Kinda gets ya right here, don't it?
