NYT Article on UCLA's Treatment of Jewish Students

Adam Nagourney has written a piece in the New York Times on the recent incident in which a Jewish student, Rachel Beyda,  was challenged for a judicial seat on the student government at UCLA because she was Jewish. The piece is also appearing in today's Orange County Register.

As one student who was present stated, there wasn't even a reference to Israel during the session in which Ms Beyda was being challenged. She was being questioned as to her ability to be fair and impartial simply because she was Jewish.

Anti-Jewish feeling is a fact on many campuses across the nation. And who are the greatest stokers of that sentiment? First and foremost, let us start with Students for Justice in Palestine, which has chapters on campuses across the nation. Add various chapters of the Muslim Student Association, for which SJP is "fronting". Throw in radical, left-wing professors who agitate against Israel (and the US) and what you have is a toxic cocktail of anti-Semitism that goes far beyond any legitimate criticism of the state of Israel.

Not surprisingly, the virulently anti-Israel blog, Mondoweiss, challenged Nagourney's piece this week by saying that charges of anti-Semitism spreading across campuses over the Israeli-Palestinian issue lacked documentation. "Based on what?" asked Mondoweiss. All they have to do is read Fousesquawk for the past several years and they would have all the documentation they want.

Not hardly. Facts are in short supply at Fousesquawk, and opinions are reiterated over and over ad nauseum even when the factual implications of those opinions has been debunked repeatedly. As documentation, Fousesquawk ranks well below Wikipedia.
