If you need a prime example of why the media in America is in its death throes, read this report from Howard Kurtz of Fox News. Even Fox was late in catching on to the story of Jonathan Gruber. What it took was one man who did the research and struggled to pass it on to the media-which ignored him.

The elites in the media can scoff all they want about so-called citizen journalists, armed only with their computers and their opinions. The fact of the matter is that the internet and blogosphere-with all their built-in biases, have overtaken a biased mainstream media. Why do you think so many newspapers are abandoning their printed editions and going online?
Meanwhile, the media and talking heads are trying to pooh-pooh the Gruber story and spin it their own way. They can't deny the truth of the story, however. It is a story of how government and academic elites have nothing but disdain for the average Joes out there who are "too stupid" to know what's good for them.
Thank God for Mr Weinstein, who did the job that the "watchdog media" should have been doing all along.
