Hat tip Jihad Watch
Jamal Badawi, who lives in Canada and was once barred from entering the US, is one of those myriad of Muslim leaders in America who smiles, speaks softly, and sells himself as a moderate. So it is that he is slated to appear at another one of those interfaith dialogues designed to lull the rest of us to sleep in the name of the supposed brotherhood of the three Abrahamaic religions. Jihad Watch has the report.

It should also be noted that Badawi was one of some 200 (North) American Muslim leaders who were recipients of the Freedom Pledge letter in 2009 and 2012 asking them to sign a simple statement that apostates from Islam in America should not be harmed. To date, two have signed, and Badawi ain't one of them.
Hopefully, one of the participants of this Minnesota event will ask him about that. Of course, I know what his answer will be. He will smile and insists there is no death penalty for apostatsy in Islam. At that point he should be asked about Hudud Sharia, which covers "Crimes Against God". That part of sharia mandates death for apostasy, adultery, blasphemy and homosexual acts. It is affirmed by virtually every leading school of Islamic thought. (I have sent this comment to the linked Minnesota Star Tribune article written by Zafar Siddiqi.)
Somebody ask him.
Gary, Jamal Badawi is no more bound by "Hudud Sharia" than I am bound by the canons of the Roman Catholic Church, or for that matter, the Aryan Nations' Church of Jesus Christ, Christian, or the beliefs of the snake-handling holy rollers.
