My friend and colleague, Leila Beckwith, a professor emeritus at UCLA, has written this piece which is running in the Daily Bruin. It concerns the clear bias of the UCLA Center for Near Eastern Studies, a tax-payer supported institution.

The CNES is typical of university Middle East studies departments across the nation. They ignore the horrors going on in the Arab nations or blame them on Israel or the West. Meanwhile, the one country that is regularly singled out for condemnation is the only democracy in the region, Israel.
And they call this education.
