The Oklahoma Beheading: Can We Expect More?

Hat tip Clash Daily

If the UK is any example, I suppose this may be the start of something we have to expect to see again given the "inspiration" by the spate of beheadings in Syria and Iraq. Oklahoma is a state, if you will recall, that took a lot of flak when it tried to pass legislation that would preclude sharia law from being applied in state courts.

I suppose this was a wake up call for a lot of folks in Oklahoma. It should be a wake up call for all of us. Meanwhile, it looks like some folks in Oklahoma are not getting the message. They are calling it-you guessed it-workplace violence.

"The station said the Facebook page has several photos of Usama bin Laden and a screen shot from the 9/11 terror attacks. It also shows a man with a quote   : "I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers: smile ye above their necks and smite all their fingertips off them."

That is straight out of the Koran.

  1. Its called copycat Gary. If the man hadn't been hearing about beheadings in the news, he would have killed some other way. He was mad over being fired. He may well have deserved to be fired. Twenty years ago, an airline employee expressed his rage by shooting a supervisor aboard a plane, incidentally taking down the plane and all the passengers on board. But he hadn't been reading headlines about cutting off people's heads.

There are religious fanatics who would nerve themselves to such an act because they believe they are called upon to do so. But mostly, people who are ruthless and self-centered will grasp whatever is available as an excuse.

What sort of "wake-up" do you want? That all employees should walk through metal detectors? Or perhaps that all Muslims in Oklahoma should be rounded up and put in concentration camps? Even the ones who own their own business, which many do?

Your reflexive outrage is short on practical details.

  2. Siarlys,

You have been reading this blog for several years. You know I have never called for Muslims to be rounded up. I have consistently said that innocent Muslims in the US should not be blamed or punished. ( I have called for an end to Islamic immigration). If you want evidence that this was religiously inspired, go to the witness accounts that he was trying to convert co-workers. Then look at the verse on his Facebook page. It is right out of the Koran. Sura 9, the final sura talks repeatedly about attacking the non-believers and killing them, smiting their necks, which meant beheading them. The verses also say words about sparing them if they repent and accept Allah. You have a Koran written by some guy named Marmaduke. I would be interested to see how he translates sura 9.

  3. Indeed Gary, I know you have never called for Muslims to be rounded up. You sound the alarm about the hidden menace among us, then refrain from stating what you recommend as the solution. So I keep asking, what do you expect people to DO who respond to your call for (unspecified) action???

  4. My solution?

1 Stop Islamic immigration into the West and US.

2 Start deporting those who come here and cause problems. Strip US citizenship from those who fight with ISIS and/or charge them with treason.

    3. Fully investigate CAIR, MPAC and the rest. I have reason to believe the US Atty Office in Dallas has prosecutable cases against many of these characters but the Holder Justice Dept won't let them indict.

4 Become energy self-sufficient and stop relying on the ME for our oil.

5 Stop this so-called ban on racial profiling when it comes to terrorism and infiltrate those mosques. If a foreign imam starts talking jihad or hatred to the West or non-Muslims deport him.

    Did I leave anything out?

  5. Point 2 sounds fine. It focuses on individual perpetrators.

Point 1 is dubious -- when and where and how has there been an open door to immigration by people who are Muslim because they are Muslim?

We might indeed stop importing entire oppressed minorities as the solution to their being shunned in some foreign land (which is how Somali immigration began). There was a distinct caste in Somali society who were descended from enslaved east Africans brought from further south. They were the targets of persecution, and someone in the Bush I administration decided the solution was to bring them all to the United States.

But I wouldn't support a policy that any given individual, no matter how well qualified, may not come here BECAUSE they are Muslim.

Point 3 is not entirely unreasonable, but I think you and other critics probably exaggerate. A really objective investigation should clear the air.

    (4) When are you buying your electric car?

Point 5 is delicate. All kinds of individual empirics are used by police to detain, assault, even kill, all kinds of innocent Americans. Police work that uses a wide variety of criteria to establish genuine patterns might include religious or geographic background, so long as these were not considered red flags that trump all other considerations.

And remember what Colonel Matthieu said in "The Battle of Algiers." You can forget about checking ID -- if anyone has their ID in order, it is the terrorists.
