Former Orange County Muslim Cleric Announces Support for ISIS

Hat tip Jihad Watch, Investigative Project on Terror, MEMRI, Vlad Tepes, and Central Ohioans Against Terrorism

Muslim Brotherhood cleric Wagdy Ghoneim, a former cleric from the Orange County Islamic Institute who was kicked out of the country, has announced his support for ISIS. In the video, Ghoneim also denies the reality of the beheadings by ISIS calling it "photoshop" and decries the dumping of the body of exalted Usama bin Laden into the sea. Jihad Watch has the story.

Here via MEMRI with English sub-titles is the video.

Here is some more background on Ghoneim from Central Ohioans Against Terrorism.

Ghoneim, it should be noted, made a speaking appearance at the infamous Noor Islamic Cultural Center near Columbus, Ohio, a place with links to several individuals involved in Islamic terror. It is also the same entity which supported the family of Rifqa Bary, an apostate from Islam who ran off to Florida and today lives in an undisclosed location for fear of her life.

Below is a court document from the 9th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida from the Bary case, in which the dubious connections of the Noor Islamic Cultural Center are outlined. Among the names linked to the mosque are Ghoneim, Yusuf al Qaradawi, Siraj Wahhaj, MPAC Director Salam Al Marayati, Salah Sultan, Edina Lekovic, and Muzammil Siddiqi, the head imam of the Orange County (CA) Islamic Center in Garden Grove. The document makes the case that Bary had every reason to fear her family and their circle at the Noor Center.

Of course, Ghoneim's problems with the US authorities did not prevent CAIR from supporting him at the time. The below link from the Investigative Project on Terrorism has a reference to words of support from none other than CAIR's LA director, Hussam Ayloush.

"Following Ghoneim’s arrest, CAIR Southern California Executive Director Hussam Ayloush defended him: “[t]he whole Muslim community today is under a microscope of scrutiny. Committing a mistake that would invite a slap on the wrist for anyone else could lead to prison or deportation for a Muslim.”

Discover the Networks has more on Ghoneim and his support from Ayloush, in addition to vocal support from Shakeel Syed, who is the head of the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California and an outspoken (sort of) supporter of the so-called Irvine 11 during their successful prosecution  for disrupting the speech of the Israeli ambassador to the US at UC Irvine in 2010.

Syed is the man with duct tape across his mouth between two defendants

Now that Ghoneim has come out with his rant, it is useful to look back on who his contacts, associates, and supporters were when he was spreading his hate and poison in our country. It's called connecting the dots.
