I cannot understand why Obama does not have a strategy. Susan Rice thinks the problem is a video, Uncle Joe thinks Al Qaeda is dead, Brennen thinks that there is no Islamist threat, the DoD concludes that there is no threat even thought Sgt. Hagel does.
Nobody who's complaining has a strategy either. Perhaps that is because the American public's appetite for war was exhausted in the fruitless adventures of George W. Bush, so now, whatever the provocation, the one thing President Obama will NOT be permitted to do is commit American troops in the middle east.
Putting together a strategy when those with boots on the ground, even those who hate ISIS, are almost universally not on speaking terms with us, would daunt anyone who took themselves seriously, rather than throwing out angry sound bytes as a substitute for courage.
