Iiiiiiiiiiiiis it true that failed ex-Michigan Governor, Jennifer Granholm (D) will be the next chancellor at UC Irvine? Since running Michigan into the ground, Granholm has been teaching a law course at UC Berkeley. (She does not possess a PhD, only a law degree.)
In recent years, it seems that the University of California has become a dumping ground for Democratic political hacks (Janet Napolitano-Robert Reich etc.)
UCI has been searching for a new chancellor ever since Michael Drake switched to Ohio State for a huge salary increase. Seems to me there isn't much to recommend her, academically or from her past performance as governor of Michigan. But what can you expect?
Then again, it may be just a bum scoop.
