Dutch Orchestra Walks Out on Muslim Conductor

Hat tip Miggie

This video has just been posted. I don't know the exact date. Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands attends a concert in which the conductor is a Muslim. At the start, the conductor starts to give the queen a lecture on Islam. At this point, the orchestra gets up and walks out. The conductor is then escorted off the stage apparently by security personnel who check his papers and remove him.

This is classic.

  1. Or the orchestra could have started to play the Dutch national anthem.

  2. Ah, not because he was a Muslim, but because he used the occasion to give the queen a lecture on Islam. Fair enough.

  3. OH!!! Maybe it was Captain Janks doing a bit for Howard Stern.

  4. PS: Conductor or not, the orchestra made a nice statement.

    Thanks for the info.

  5. Banafshay (Wherever you are),

Maybe you should do some further fact checking. What is your source for saying this conductor was an imposter?

  6. Banafsheh is demonstrating the limits of logic.

Premise: A Muslim cannot be a conductor.

    The man is a Muslim.

Conclusion:The man cannot be a conductor.

When logic delivers incongruous results, a faulty premise is generally the first thing to look for.

  7. What a ridiculous distortion to claim that this mentally disordered homeless person (known to the police from earlier disruptions) could be "the conductor" of the famous Dutch "Philharmonic Orchestra"! This incident (3 September 2011) happened before the conductor had come to the stage. And the claim that the full orchestra walked out on their own conductor (and that the conductor was carried away by the police and subsequently incarcerated) is of course even more hilarious. After the poor man had been carried away the orchestra returned and the concert passed off as scheduled.

But apparently the real facts are not inflaming enough for anti-muslim hatemongers, therefore this nonsense about "the conductor" had to be fabricated.

  8. P Kuiper,

Well, better late than never. I think after almost a year, we have caught on, but thanks for your late clarification.

  9. Fine. Anyway, the conductor of this "Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra" is German conductor Marc Albrecht (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marc_Albrecht). If HE really would have done this and been caught by the police, there certainly would have been much more publicity!
