No Further Excuse to Deal With the Palestinian Authority

A bill is being introduced in the House of Representatives to designate the Palestinian Authority as a terrorist group and and to cut off all aid to the PA.now that it has formed a unity government with the terrorist group Hamas.

Since Hamas is now part of the unity government of Mahmoud Abbas, this seems on the surface to be a no-brainer. Israel has no incentive to negotiate peace with any entity that includes Hamas because Hamas has always refused any idea of negotiation and is determined to wipe Israel off the face of the map.

Of course, the trick is to convince the State Department under John Kerry and the Obama administration. There is a better chance of the Cubs winning this year's World Series.

"This could be the year. A World Series for the Cubs and a Nobel Peace prize for me."

In reality, while it may be a pipe dream for Michele Bachmann and Trent Franks  to see this legislation become reality, how can one justify trying to deal with-and give aid to- a government that includes an officially designated terror organization like Hamas?

Welcome to the surreal world of Barack Obama and John Kerry.

  1. Dude,

They must be smoking medical marijuana at the White House. Making peace with Hamas and counting on five exceptionally vicious Taliban released by Obama to be sedate is psychedelic.
Although, if we believe Susan (it was a video) Rice, Bowe Bergdahl served with distinction and honor as a U.S. soldier. This frozen chocolate fudge bar given us by Obama and his Administration, is smelling worse.

  2. For the same reason al Qaeda said in 2008 that they had to prefer the election of John McCain as President of the United States, Gary Fouse is now doing the work of Hamas. Nothing will make Hamas more influential among the mass of Palestinians than refusing to deal with the PA or help establish an independent Palestinian state (as provided for by the same UN resolution that authorized the creation of Israel).

    Oh ye suckers.

  3. US law says we don't deal with a designated terrorist organization. Obama does what he wants irregardless.

  4. We aren't dealing with Hamas. We are dealing with the Palestinian Authority. Whether that includes representatives of Hamas is up to the voters.

(Maybe George W. Bush shouldn't have been pushing so hard for an election everyone knew Hamas would win... better to have elections after establishing a sovereign state.)
