Two years after an Iranian-born woman was murdered in Houston, arrests have been made. The victim was an apostate from Islam and open critic of the Iranian regime.

"The mystery deepened 11 months later, in November 2012, when the twin brother of Bagherzadeh's boyfriend was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds inside his apartment."

In addition, Bare Naked Islam  is saying the following:

Ali Mahwood-Awad Irsan, 56 (photo right), was indicted for the 2012 murder/honor killing of Gelareh Bagherzadeh, a medical student and outspoken Iranian activist, whom he allegedly blamed for influencing his daughter to marry a non-Muslim man without his permission. His wife and son were also arrested on fraud charges.

Frontpage Magazine has more details. There is another person whom Irsan killed.

This was our first report on this case two years ago.

It appears that the alternative theory of Gelareh being the victim of a long distance contract hit by the Iranian government has gone out the window. All signs point to an honor killing.

Maybe now those 200 or so Muslim leaders in the US will be motivated to sign the Freedom Pledge letter from Former Muslims United to say that apostates in the US should not be harmed.

Don't hold your breath though. To date, only two have signed, both true Muslim moderates.
