5 Hours of "Nyet"
"Top tier priority"
Secretary of State John Kerry took a few hours off from his top tier priority of promoting the Climate Change hoax to engage in high stakes poker with his Russian counterpart in London. Not surprisingly, since he held no cards, Kerry walked away from the meeting empty handed and talking about "consequences' if Russia annexes Crimea. No word on what the consequences would be if Russia annexes all of Eastern Ukraine.

I mean Kerry couldn't even come out of the meeting waving a sheet of paper a'la Neville Chamberlain.
So continues the saga of this feckless foreign policy, dictated by a feckless president, and carried out by a feckless secretary of state. The world is overflowing with serious crises, like Syria, where Kerry is somehow attempting to broker peace and a removal of Bashar Assad with zero results, Iran, where the mullahs march on with their nuke program all the while declaring their intent to destroy Israel, and that ever elusive Israeli-Palestinian peace deal that Kerry desperately wants to hang on his mantle in spite of the fact that the Palestinians will not budge from their demands and will not recognize Israel as a Jewish state. Everywhere you look, you see John Kerry flying around the world and flailing about with ridiculous pronouncements that nobody is paying any attention to while his boss (Obama) sits in Washington making endless pronouncements that nobody is listening to when he is not appearing on comedy shows. ( He is a comedy show, and nobody is laughing harder than Vladimir Putin.)
Yet, in the middle of all this, Kerry advises his entire department that their top-tier priority is Climate Change.

The question now is whether history will record John Kerry a worse secretary of state than his predecessor, Madame Hillary Clinton. Until Benghazi, her most notable achievement had been flying to over a hundred countries with nothing to show for it. Then Benghazi (before, during, and after) put an indelible black mark on her tenure.
Kerry for his part, hasn't caused a major catastrophe-yet. The danger here is that he will conclude some sort of Peace in our Time treaty with somebody that will give him a Nobel Prize, but cause a few million people to lose their freedom-if not their lives.
Yup, Kerry holds no cards. Or, more precisely, the USA holds no cards. Putin knows the public won't put up with a major commitment to a military confrontation over the Ukraine, much less Crimea. Our appetite for that was squandered on ill-advised and unnecessary wars in Iraq, and extension beyond the terms of the real mission in Afghanistan, and it won't be whetted again anytime soon. Accordingly, even if John McCain were president, Putin wouldn't be listening.
