Seattle Democratic Club Invites Richard Silverstein to Speak

He called University of New Orleans student Chloe Valdary a "Negro Zionist  for her support of Israel

Hat tip The Mike Report

Silverstein called Chloe Valdary a "Negro" for differing with him on US Israel policy. He went on to call her an "Uncle Tom" and a "House Slave"

So what happens when a white Seattle blogger calls a black college student a "Negro Zionist and refers to Uncle Tom "dancin' for joy"? Universal condemnation, especially from the left, right?

Wrong!

So what are we to conclude from this speaking invitation? What I conclude is that the Democratic party endorses calling a young black woman names like this when she wanders off the politically-correct reservation-and not even on a matter of race, mind you, but for her support of Israel.

Kudos to the Seattle-based blog, The Mike Report for asking for an explanation from the local Dems.

  1. She's not the first Zionist of African descent. Silverstein is too young or too ignorant to have heard of A. Philip Randolph, or Bayard Rustin. I might add that Percival L. Prattis, the editor of the Pittsburgh Courier, was instrumental in securing Haiti's vote for partition in 1947 (that was before Papa Doc, for all you UC-Santa Cruz Community Studies majors).

He also did a first hand series on Peace Prospects in the Holy Land in 1954 that was so well balanced he won critical acclaim from both sides of the truce line. (Critical, because he didn't totally demonize the enemies of either side.)
