Richard Falk Coming to San Diego State University

On April 7, Richard Falk will be speaking at San Diego State University as part of something called the Charles W. Hostler Institute on World Affairs lecture series on, "Blood on our Hands: Moral Responsibility in World Affairs".  If that doesn't give you a clue as to the agenda, let me add that the last speaker (March 10) was Huwaida Araff of the International Solidarity Movement. The professor running this side show is Dr Jonathan Graubart of SDSU. And who is Jonathan Graubart, you ask?

You don't wanna know.

So instead  let me introduce Richard Falk, who presently has some connection or gig at UC Santa Barbara, home of William Robinson and famed poster thief Mireille Miller-Young

If you recall, Falk also bears the impressive title of Special Rapporteur to the UN on Human Rights. (His term, thankfully, ends this month.) As such, it was he who was tasked with conducting an investigation into the human rights situation in the Palestinian territories a few years back. Falk came back and condemned Israel, not surprisingly since he is a fierce opponent of that nation. Rather than simply submit his report and walk away, Falk continues to conduct a campaign against the Jewish state on behalf of his Palestinian pals. He is, of course, a supporter of the boycott, divest and sanctions movement against Israel and companies that do business with her. As such, he is submitting his final report to the UN this month as he sails off into the sunset.

Falk is also a critic of the good old USA, as well. Not only does he hang out with 9-11 Truthers, but most recently, he implied that the Boston Marathon attack was all because of our unjust policies favoring Israel vis-a-vis the Muslim world, you see.

I mean this guy is so bad even Susan Rice recoils in disgust.

So this is what will be on display at SDSU for Dr. Graubart's students to listen to. No doubt, Graubart will open up the talk by taking another shot at the nay-sayers, as he did when Araff spoke.  Things would be so much more pleasant at the university if there were no disagreement, you know.

  1. I suppose that this Falk presentation will be either mandatory or extra credit for Dr. Graubart's students. Also, I wonder if students who oppose the views of Falk will fail the class. Jewish students should avoid Graubart classes to save their peace of mind.
