Harvard Trek Visits Arafat's Grave- No Big Deal Says Harvard Hillel

Hat tip Truth Revolt

This looks like Olive Tree Initiative East. A group of Harvard students on an Israel tour, which is supported by Harvard Hillel and Jewish donations pays a visit to Yasser Arafat's grave in Ramallah. The March 17 stop was not on the group's itinerary. (Shades of OTI's 2009 meeting with a Hamas official named Aziz Dweik.)

This, of course, upset many in the Boston Jewish community who remember Arafat as the terrorist leader responsible for the deaths of  thousands of Jews and some Americans as well.

But Harvard's Hillel says there is nothing to get upset about, which is what many Hillel chapters around the country say.

Aside from the above-referenced OTI meeting with Aziz Dweik, there was also this interesting visit to Bethlehem, where the delegation posed for photos.

Seems like Deju vu all over again.

  1. Ahhh, a "feminist studies" professor. Can you major in that?? I wonder if she is a union member.

  2. I miss when Bethlehem and Nazareth had communist mayors, and Palestinian groups were led by Orthodox Christians.

  3. These students committed a very evil act by honoring a mass murderer. The photo speaks for itself, sadly. Had they been alive during The Soah, they would have been kapos, eagerly shoving other Jews into gas chambers!
That they fail to see the banality of what they did, does not speak well for them.

  4. Robby can't seem to make up his mind whether to be anonymous or not, albeit his legal name may or may not be Robby Feinstein. He also hasn't read much history. During the Churban Europa, nobody got to VOLUNTEER to be kapos, they were ASSIGNED. Some of those whose job was to dig up the bodies and incinerate them before the Red Army arrived, took the opportunity to say appropriate prayers for the dead over each one.
