"The pathway to success"
Secretary of State John Kerry told a meeting in Munich Saturday that 2013 saw no Israeli deaths at the hands of Palestinians in the West Bank. Shin Bet, the Israeli security service, begs to differ. They had just released a report saying otherwise.
"Last year, not one Israeli was killed by a Palestinian from the West Bank,"

I guess Shin Bet must be wrong. After all, if John Kerry says it is so, it must be so.
I wonder what fact checking there is by the Secretary of State (!) before public comments like this are made. Is there no review? Is it that he isn't aware of any such events so there must not be any... as though he really keeps up on this.
ReplyDeleteHe must have staff to check on these kind of pronouncements... presumably to make the Israelis less concerned about attacks my Arabs.
There is a political issue (maybe it is over now) in Israel about the few Jews who live in Area A... administered by the PA. The question is whether they should be allowed to live there if that area is given to the Palestinians. One side says it is up to them and the other side says they are certain to be murdered or held for ransom, etc.
I'm really not sure but I believe as a concession to Kerry and for the sake of appearances the decision was to let them do what they want.
P.S. If the Arabs run true to form, those people who don't want to leave their homes on the West Bank will be murdered and for no other reason than because of their religion.
