Modern Language Association Annual Conference Agenda and Omar Barghouti

Hat tip Campus Reform and Algemeiner

If you think the American Studies Association went off the rails with their ill-fated resolution to boycott Israeli academics, wait till you see the Modern Language Association bunch in action. They are having their annual convention and boy- does it have a lot to do with language. Campus Reform has the report.

Oh yeah. They also have a proposal up for vote to boycott Israel. That has a lot to do with language too, you know. Here from Algemeiner is the reaction from an American-Israeli professor. According to Professor Ilan Troen, the guiding figure behind this motion is none other than our old friend, Qatar-born, University of Tel Aviv-educated Omar Barghouti.

If you read this blog, you know that Mr Barghouti came to speak at UC Irvine last year, just a couple of days before he caused such a ruckus at Brooklyn College. This is the guy who, during the q and a at UCI, refused to tell me where he was born saying it was not relevant. It was, indeed, relevant because this man, who is not an Israeli, received his graduate education at Tel Aviv University. That was the reason he refused to answer the question; it would have revealed him to the audience to be an ingrate and  hypocrite of world-class proportions.

Which he is.

  1. These stupid courses and curriculum are not only anti-American and anti-Semitic, they bankrupt the students with loans to pay to take this crap, waste time, and leave them ill-prepared to do any useful job in society.

    What a ripoff!
