This is how far journalism has sunk over at MSNBC. Talking head Lawrence O'Donnell reacted angrily to a comment made by Tagg Romney in a recent interview about wanting to take a swing at President Obama for calling his father, Mitt, a liar during the presidential campaign. You can hear the audio of that exchange below and judge for yourself how seriously the younger Romney meant it.
Yet tough guy O'Donnell, who apparently is a product of the mean streets of Boston, took umbrage at the comment. So much so that on his own show, "The Last Word", O'Donnell publicly challenged young Romney to a fight. Real Clear Politics has the report and video.

It should be noted that O'Donnell has a visceral dislike of Mormons, which he has freely expressed on air in past references to Mitt Romney. It goes back to the historical discrimination the church practiced against African-Americans, something Mitt Romney has stated he rejoiced over when the church reversed their policy on blacks becoming church officials.
But as I watched O'Donnell acting like a high school punk on air, I thought to myself that this is what I was like when I was about 14 years old-a punk.
C'mon, O'Donnell. Don't take a swing. Grow up.

ReplyDeleteTagg's comment should be treated with amused contempt, not with the seriousness accorded by anger and a challenge to a duel. Such a nice boy, standing up for his father no matter what Mittens did that people are talking about.
Tagg's comment should have been viewed with amusement-period. Instead, McConnell acted like he himself had been gravely insulted. Did you watch the tape? It was embarrassing.
ReplyDeleteWhy would I waste my time watching two hyperactive white men throwing separate temper tantrums?
