Handling Pro-Palestinian Hecklers at the University of Florida

Hat tip JJ and Jewish Press

"What is wrong with you?" Berko sharply addressed the four. "Sit down and listen to what I have to say and wait for the question and answer portion of this event to raise your issues!"

Here is what happened on October 10 at the University of Florida when a bunch of little thuggies from Students for Justice in Palestine tried to intimidate a woman from the Israeli Defense Forces as she was giving a speech.

"You think the IDF kills children? You should go to Syria, where everyone knows they are murdering thousands of children with gas and other cruel weapons!  Go to Syria where there are actually thousands of real refugees. They need you to demonstrate in Syria, go!" Berko lectured the SJP hecklers.

This, of course, is the tactic of the pro-Palestinian thugs who infest our college campuses. They cannot engage in debate with the truth, so they resort to disruption and intimidation to try and silence the speaker. It is also the tactic of their so-called Jewish allies in Jewish Voice for Peace, who walk hand in hand with SJP and others who want to destroy the Jewish state of Israel. How refreshing to see a woman like Ms Berko who doesn't wilt under attacks like these.

Undoubtedly, the four creeps who tried to heckle this lady would never think about donning the uniform of their country as the speaker has. They are not made of such stuff. I know because I see this type over and over again at UC Irvine, where I have taught since 1998. They only care about their own right of free speech and care nothing about the rights of others.

I would like to ask why the University of Florida newspaper even gave these four a voice after their disruption by interviewing them and printing their remarks. They didn't deserve it after they tried to take away Ms Berko's right to speak.

  1. She handled it right. I don't much care what the newspaper did. As Stalin once said, paper will put up with whatever you print on it. For that matter, Limbaugh and Hannity have shown that the same is true of digital media.

  2. I have had the opportunity to speak with Berko on a one-to-one encounter. Also, I have read her books on female suicide bombers (Sheheda). She is one tough, intelligent personality. With that said, and being an officer in the IDF, I am surprised at her restraint. But after all, this presentation was at a University.

  5. Well, I think Gary would have mentioned it if she had. Also, the NY Times would have written an editorial about it.
