CAIR Conference to Feature Glenn Greenwald
Hat tip CIF Watch
On November 16 in Anaheim, the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) will hold its annual convention at the Anaheim Hilton Hotel. The featured speaker will be Glenn Greenwald, who published Edward Snowden's revelations about NSA.

According to CAIR's announcement, Greenwald is going to disclose information about "NSA's role in some assassination program". (If that involves assassinations of terrorists like Anwar al Awlaki, that's fine by me.)
That very well may be the case since Greenwald has publicly condemned the killing of Awlaki. Not only that, he has spoken of Awlaki in rather glowing terms.

The issue of Edward Snowden has raised legitimate issues about what the NSA was doing. Greenwald, however, goes beyond questioning the legal basis for his (Awlaki's) killing. In going to bat for the ghost of Awlaki, he raises questions about his own ideology.
For CAIR to bring in this man as its annual keynote speaker raises questions about its very loyalty to America. A question that is not so hard to answer.
CAIR is not an organization formed by or representing American Muslims. It is an organization funded by Muslims outside America to influence the nature of "American Islamic Relations." Most American Muslims are too busy running prosperous businesses and praying five times a day to pay attention to CAIR.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, Siarlys about one thing. It is funded from outside the US.
