Zaid Shakir
"While many Americans honored fallen U.S. servicemen, Imam Zaid Shakir’s message to 32,000 Muslims at the ICNA convention was that Sharia Law is superior to the U.S. Constitution because it isn’t based on equal citizenship for Muslims and non-Muslims. He actually said, “If Islam is the basis, the kafir [non-believer] won’t be equal with the Muslim. The Christian or the Jew will be a dhimmi [second-class citizen]. They won’t be equal with the Muslim.”
The below post quotes the words of Zaid Shakir at this year's ICNA conference over Memorial Day. In his speech, he makes it clear that under Sharia law, non-Muslims would not be equal to Muslims. The below report is by Ryan Mauro of the Clarion Project and was cross-posted by Vlad Tepes.

It should be noted that Shakir is a founder of Zaytuna College at UC Berkeley along with professor Hatem Bazian. In addition, during last year's MPAC conference, which was held at the All Saints Episcopal Church in Pasadena, one of the young speakers told the audience how he had relocated to the Berkeley area so he could be mentored by Shakir.

Script for Siarlys Jenkins's debate with Citizen Shakir:
ReplyDeleteSJ: You've described precisely why the Constitution is superior -- it doesn't allow any group to be superior to any others.
ZS: But Muslims ARE superior. A constitution which doesn't enforce this is an inferior constitution.
SJ: Says who?
ZS: God.
SJ: Citation please?
ZS: The Prophet said so.
SJ: Citation please?
ZS: Its in the Koran somewhere.
SJ: Could you be more specific?
ZS: Its in there, read it for yourself.
SJ: I have, I haven't seen anything like that, can you show it to me?
ZS: Well, Muslims were superior during the Caliphate.
SJ: Which Caliphate?
ZS: There is only one Caliphate!
SJ: Rashidun, Umayyad, Abassid, Fatamid, Umayyad of Cordoba, Almohade, Almoravid, Seljuk, Ottoman...?
ZS: It's all the same!
SJ: So were the Ummayads wrong to depose Ali, or were the Abassids wrong to depose the Umayyads?
ZS: When the unrighteous usurped power, God overthrew them and restored the proper Caliphate.
SJ: That means men who appear to be Muslim, and speak in the name of Islam, can be unrighteous, correct?
ZS: They were imposters.
SJ: How do we know that you are not an imposter?
It could go on forever, but it would not be difficult to make this fool look very foolish. Why do you take him so seriously?
