The Erroneous James Clapper

"Not wittingly"

"Confused by the word 'dossier'"

"Least untruthful answer possible"

National Intelligence Chief James Clapper has apologized in a letter for his previous testimony before Congress that was "clearly erroneous" when he denied domestic data gathering by NSA.

Strange how the head of National Intelligence is confused by the word, "dossier"*. If he was hesitant to answer a question that involved national security, all he had to do was suggest the matter be discussed in closed session, which these officials do all the time.

OK. So where do we go from here? Is an apology for lying before Congress end the matter? Does Clapper resign? Will he be fired?  Does he face any kind of prosecution? Or is it just time to "move on"?

Seems there are never any consequences for this bunch.

* Yesterday in the Zimmerman trial the county medical examiner didn't know what the word, "protrusion" meant.

The answer is, that Clapper will be rewarded with a larger salary and a promotion.

We must all remember what the POTUS said afer the 2010 Republican take-over of the U.S. House of Representatives:
"Were gonna punish our enemies and were gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us."

  2. Gary, you should get a cut in pay! This job of finding stupidity in government, Muslim atrocities, bad foreign policy decisions, bad domestic policy decisions, imbeciles in office, telling world incidents, etc. is just too easy.

It is what we called in the service a target rich area.

I appreciate your efforts though. Your blog is becoming a news aggregation site. You usually have
the things I am interested in on your site, with your comments. I also have the opportunity to comment on them.

Maybe I've been too harsh... no need to cut your pay, you provide a valuable service.

  3. Miggie,

You are correct. I should get a cut in pay. The only problem is I don't get paid for this.

  4. Cut his pay by 50 percent. At least the result will not be less than zero.
