Syria : What Do You Want Us to Do, Professor?

At the risk of being overly cynical, I feel the need to post this article by some professor from Liberty University named Johnnie Moore. He is another one of those global peace-building individuals who run around the world trying to get people to love each other. Of course, he winds up in or around Syria. Here is his article, which is running in Fox News.

With all due respect, Dr Moore; What exactly do you want us to do about Syria? It has just been announced that President Obama has decided that some red line has been crossed and we are going to send weapons to some faction fighting the Syrian government. It has also been announced that Obama wants to bring in thousands or tens of thousands of Syrian refugees. That means we can look forward to another bomb going off on an American sidewalk set by the Syrian successor(s) to the Chechen Brothers Tsarnaev.

I understand Mr Moore's compassion for the civilians living in tents as well s the some 90,000 or so who have died. But what do you want us to do, Sir? If you want to send food, medicine and blankets to the camps, great. I'll support that. Not that America will ever receive any lasting good will for that. We won't, but send it anyway.

But beyond that, what are we supposed to do? End the war, right? Sorry, but we can't unless you want to send in American military might. I am against that. First of all, there are no white hats left anymore-at least ones with guns. There are only evil dictators, their killers in uniform, aided by Iran and Hezbollah,  fighting against al Qaeda factions on both sides with "fighters" pouring in from many Muslim nations to engage in jihad.

Add to that mix the fact that both sides are wantonly killing their prisoners by mass shootings or beheadings as well as anyone else they perceive as the enemy.What are we supposed to do in the middle of that? Do you want to see Americans in uniform being beheaded by one of the many factions involved? Do you want to see more prisoners being lined up against a wall and shot with American weapons as a crowd yells, "Allahu Akhbar"?

Well, I don't.

Dr Moore, you have done a good job of describing the suffering of Syrian civilians. But you don't have the answer beyond implying that we must get involved. How? Are you willing to sacrifice American lives to this mess? I say we have sacrificed enough.
