Switzerland, which is not a part of the EU, is taking steps to limit immigration from other European countries. Their specific problem is that they are absorbing criminal elemnts from Eastern Europe (former Yugoslavia, Romania Etc.)

And guess who is Johnny-on-the-spot in rebuking the Swiss? Why none other than Baroness Lady Catherine Ashton (with a face that any country would want to keep out), who is the hapless head of the EU foreign affairs office, a post she has no qualifications for.
And she is lecturing the Swiss?
In 2011, my wife and I were in Zurich and visiting with her niece, a native of Mexico, and her Swiss husband, a young banker who studied in Mexico where he met his wife. We spent the evening conversing in Spanish. I say this to emphasize that he is not anti-immigrant by any means. Yet he told us horror stories about the problem Switzerland is having with its immigrants, particularly form the former Yugoslavia and other Eastern European countries. They are violent, and they are organized. The problem is that Switzerland is under constant pressure from its European neighbors to allow these people free access just as they can cross from one EU country to another.
