I will never forget when Ann Coulter came to UC Irvine a few years back and referred to the "semen-splattered Chris Matthews" in describing his shameless fawning over President Obama.
"I don't think that's funny."
Well, it seems there is plenty to go around to the other "anchors" at MSNBC as they were falling all over themselves in singing the praises of the President's speech yesterday-the one he shared the mic with Code Pink founder Medea Benjamin, who gave a pretty solid speech herself.
I was doing my thing on the treadmill when I turned on the TV and caught the President as he was defending his use of drone strikes to take out bad guys like Anwar al Awlaki (another one of our featured speakers at UC Irvine back on 9-9-2001, but I digress). On that issue, I give him the benefit of the doubt.
But then, he offered to pass judgement over to Congress on the issue, like he wasn't really sure about whether he was doing the right thing or not.
Then he started talking about Congress closing down Gitmo, which it seems to me he has had 5 years to do himself.
That's when Benjamin took over and made her speech, occasionally interrupted by Obama, who was trying to re-capture the podium. Eventually, he just let her drone on for what seemed like a full minute. (Don't they have bouncers when Obama speaks?) Here via the Daily Beast, is a excerpt from Obama and Benjamin's momentous speech
None of that mattered to MSNBC dopes like Chris Hayes, Martin Bashir, or Al Sharpton, who gave the President an A+. No mention of how they graded Benjamin.
To make things worse, Hayes and Bashir gave kudos to Obama for calling into question the whole war on terror by referring to the London attacks by two men who were not affiliated with anybody or any group-just like those two lone wolves who carried out the Boston attacks. "Not terrorists, just murderers".

Meanwhile, here is an excerpt from another great presidential speech-Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address:
"Mr President, when are you going to stop killing Confederates? People are dying, Mr President..."
My great great grandfather, who served in the 11th Tennessee Cavalry, United States Army, was quite willing to kill confederates. Must not have killed enough of them, because the KKK tried to burn his house down after the war. He was a Jacksonian Democrat, who recalled that Our Hero said he would hang John C. Calhoun from the highest tree in South Carolina if he attempted secession.
ReplyDeleteThat was starting at the end of Gary's post. I think I agreed with Gary's analogy there.
There's not much substance in the middle, but going back to the beginning... if Ann Coulter was close enough to Chris Matthews to recognize he was semen-splattered, there was something kinky going on between those two. If I was her, I wouldn't boast about it in public.
(Poor taste, but one bad turn deserves another. If Ann Coulter were a Christian, she would love her enemies. Oh, wait, maybe I just implied that she does.)
That is a pretty quick assessment that the attack was by to lone attackers. Whether it takes the Obama administration a few minutes or a few years, as in the case of Major Hassan at Ft. Hood, they will NEVER see any connection to Islam.
ReplyDeleteForget that these guys ALL yell the same thing at the time they are committing the atrocities, "Allah Akbar."
"What a coincidence... no connection at all. Our foreign policy has been the most successful in history."
What a pathetic joke all the liberals who still support Obama are.
.
Let MSNBC continue to secrete its smelly spew to those Progressives who call it chocolate sauce. When they realize that what the President is delivering smells, they may turn away from the already failing MSNBC which are at it's lowest rartings in history.

Yelling a call to prayer doesn't establish an organizational connection. What did the guy who gunned down Yitzakh Rabin say before, during and after?
