The BDS Propaganda Drive on Campus

Hat tip to Squid, The Algemeiner  and ME Forum

Judith Butler and Omar Barghouti at Brooklyn College

In the below article published February 8, by The Algemeiner and Middle East Forum, Alexander Joffe explains how the Boycott-Divest and Sanctions movement is propagated against Israel on university campuses using inexperienced Jewish studies professors as foils to argue the Israeli position against experienced pro-Palestinian activists. The article refers to the controversy over Omar Barghouti and Judith Butler's speaking appearance at Brooklyn College this past week as well as the disruption of the Israeli ambassador Michael Oren at UC Irvine.

I vaguely recall (and will try to pull it up) a similar event at UCLA just a few years ago (I was not present), in which a woefully inadequate Jewish professor was unable to go head to head with the anti-Israel pros on the panel.  Of course, don't assume that all or even most of these events are two-sided. The appearance by Barghouti and Butler at Brooklyn was totally one-sided as was Barghouti's earlier presentation at UC Irvine, where Barghouti refused to answer my questions during the q and a.

In fact, of all the anti-Israel events I have seen at UC Irvine, I can't recall any that had a pro-Israel speaker. I was present, however at the Michael Oren event a couple of years back at UCI.

And we all know how that turned out.
