Given President Obama's thinly-concealed animus towards Israel, it would hardly be surprising if he picked former Senator Chuck Hagel to be our next secretary of defense. Hagel is no supporter of Israel, has spoken about the so-called "Jewish lobby" in Washington, and is a favorite of the Council of American Islamic Relations, that Muslim Brotherhood front group that was and is still labeled as an un- indicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial in Dallas in 2007 that centered around phony charities funneling money to known terror groups in the Middle East.

It goes without saying that Hagel's nomination would send a powerful message to all concerned parties in the Middle East that this administration sides solidly with the Palestinian side. This is the same administration that we now know is sending arms to jihadist rebels in Syria, who one day will turn those arms on Americans-just like our "friends" in Libya did.
It is up to Congress to firmly reject this nomination.
A secretary of defense who recognizes that the foreign policy of the United States is based on the interests of the United States, whereas the foreign policy of Israel is based on the interests of Israel, that these are not identical, not even two twins joined at the hip, would be a step forward.
ReplyDeleteHmmmmmm. Looks to me like Hagel (I believe he was always a very, very long shot anyway) is now out and Kerry (mope and at least quasi-gigolo that he is) is in. My memory is unfortunately not what it used to be, and I still have that crow tied out in the backyard in case I have to eat him. Although it was fairly widely known that Ms. Clinton would be out shortly to start working on her 2016 run, I certainly am unable to remember her making any announcement about a resignation on a date certain. Maybe she did and I missed it. Someone please correct me if that is the case.
