We pick up the story......

Holder: "So where is this Clanton woman anyway?"

"She is resting in her compartment, but said she will join us soon," replied one of the Americans on board, a woman named Victoria, who also knew Ms Clanton.

"Where are we now?" asked Holder.

"We are in Germany, but will be entering France in a couple of hours", replied the conductor.

"I hope she shows up before we get to Paris," replied Holder.

Just then, another one of the Americans walked in and announced," Ms Clanton will come and answer your questions in 4 hours."

"That's great news," relied Holder.

"Yes indeed," said the man from the Accountability Review Board.

The hours passed. Finally, just before Ms Clanton was scheduled to appear and answer questions, the woman named Victoria rushed in and announced,

"I'm sorry Gentlemen, but Ms Clanton has taken ill with a stomach virus. She has fallen and hit her head and suffered a concussion. Therefore, you will have to postpone your questioning."

"Must have been that lobster thermidor they were serving last night," said Dick Holder.

"Guess we better have a drink", said the man from the Accountability Review Board.

So, as the Orient Express rumbles on to Paris, we await the emergence of Ms Harriet Clanton to tell the investigators what she knows about the circumstances of Ms Rice's untimely demise.

To be continued.

  1. It was either the butler, or Gary Fouse. We know Fouse had the motive, the intent, and the weapon of his own blog. Obviously this murder cries out for blog control.

(Read that as sarcasm, and you can't call me a liberal. Socialist maybe, liberal, never).

I just installed a replacement keyboard on my laptop, so you can expect greater profusion from me in the near future. The spacebar stopped working on the old one, so I had to paste in every space with CTRL-v. Then the left control key went out, and I had to use the right one. But all is well now!
