With the upcoming MPAC annual convention in Pasadena on December 15, I have been posting some details about some of their speakers. This is the fourth in a series. Dustrin Craun is a young man out of San Francisco State who has some really deep thoughts-maybe too deep for most of us. Below is a resume of Craun followed by an article he wrote about something called decolonializing.

Zaytuna College is a Muslim institution within UC Berkeley. One of the people associated with it is Bekeley professor and anti-Israel activist Hatem Bazian. He has come to spread his nonsense about Israel a number of times at UC Irvine. His other pet peeve is Islamophobia. Here is another posting I previously did about Zaytuna.
Here is Craun's article for Adbusters.

"In the classic decolonial manifesto, Discourse on Colonialism, Aimé Césaire described Western life as a poison infecting the planet. Césaire wrote that to understand our existence, “First we must study how colonization works to decivilize the colonizer, to brutalize him in the true sense of the word, to degrade him, to awaken him to buried instincts, to covetousness, violence, race hatred, and moral relativism.” For Césaire, “a gangrene has set in … a center of infection has begun to spread …” The poison Cesaire warned of is a philosophical and spiritual poison that infects each of us today."
OK, I get the drift; Western civilization is bad. After all, this is a common theme you find in universities-especially like SF State, and I would guess at Zaytuna as well.
I wonder if the All Saints Episcopal Church in Pasadena, which is hosting this event, feels the same.
