"White House Only Corrected Mention of Benghazi as a Consulate in Report"

White House Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes has put another statement on the record as to that intelligence talking points memo on Benghazi that David Petraeus says was changed.

http://news.yahoo.com/white-house-says-did-not-heavily-edit-talking-162506060.html

"If there were adjustments made to them within the intelligence community, that's common, and that's something they would have done themselves," Ben Rhodesdeputy national security adviser, told reporters. "The only edit ... made by the White House was the factual edit as to how to refer to the facility."

Whether that turns out to be true or not, it is important to get it on the record. As of today, there are rumors going around the Internet that the administration put out the video/protest line to conceal the fact they already knew al Qaeda was involved. Conceal from whom? Al Qaeda.  Seems stupid given that they had taken credit for it anyway. We will have to see if there is anything to that report.

  1. Some (much??) is being made of the apparent fact that Petraeus was not under oath when he "briefed" members of Congress and attributed the attacks to a video when he knew that was false.

Seems to me that unless there is some exception (and I readily admit I do not know if there is or not), this should be a Federal felony in violation of 18USC1001

I can't wait to find out that no one knows who originally redacted mention of a terrorist attack from the documentation. Yeah, sure. What a bunch!!!
