NBC Evening News- March 13, 2030
"The NBC Evening News with Rachel Maddow"
"Good Evening,
We begin this evening with a report from the White House, where President Obama is welcoming Iranian President Ahmadinejad on a three-day state visit. Among the issues to be discussed are a new defense pact, nuclear cooperation, as well as the continuing threat of Israel to the region.
Above- President Obama and Vice President Clinton welcoming Ahmadinejad to the US at Dulles Airport.
"In related news, Republicans and other conservatives once again are in a tither about what they term the softball treatment accorded to the President by the White House press corps. Specifically, they are pointing to his last press conference, which consisted of only 8 questions, one of which was this:
"You'd think they would concentrate on the issues."
"Speaking of birthdays, Treasury Secretary (and my younger brother), Tim Geithner, turned 40 today."
"Where's Marilyn?"
"On the legal front, Lynne Stewart will be sworn in tomorrow to the Supreme Court. She becomes the 9th justice named to the court by President Obama."
"One of her former clients, Omar the Blind Sheikh Abdul Rahman, who was pardoned by President Obama back in 2013 and is now the President of Egypt, will fly in from Egypt to attend the swearing-in ceremony."
"I gotta see this."
In a (somewhat) sad note, former Clinton adviser-turned Clinton critic Dick Morris died today at his retirement home in Mexico City, where he was living in exile. After leaving the Clinton White House, Morris was a constant critic of Mrs Clinton. The cause of death has been reported as a cerebral hemorrhage. Here is the last reported photo of Morris in Mexico City just before his death.
"If you go to Dick Morris.com,......"
"(Mrs Clinton was unavailable for a comment.)"
"We end tonight's report on a light note. Joe Doaks of Bullsnuts, Oklahoma was walking down Main Street today when he discovered a crumpled dollar bill lying in the gutter."
"It is believed to be the last remaining dollar in existence. When asked what he is going to do with it, he said,
"I think I will donate it to the Smithsonian."
"And that's the news for March 13, 2030. Good night, everybody."

Gary thinks he's the 21st century Richard Brautigan... even Brautigan wasn't good enough to actually buy his books. But the titles were clever.
