"How does one exhume the Devil?"
One of the most complicated archaeological projects in the history of the Middle East is still on-going: the exhumation of Yassir Arafat's sorry remains. And why this unusual project? So the Palestinian historians and other conspiracy theorists can "prove" that the Israelis poisoned the terrorist leader. Maybe that quack professor Jeff Halper will charge that the Israelis used that famous spectral dust to take Arafat out.

Even if the supposition were true, I would applaud the Israelis for eliminating the old bastard.
"Earlier this month, workers began prying open the concrete-encased tomb in Arafat's former government headquarters in the West Bank city of Ramallah."
Really? Over here in the US, that's a one-day project at the most. Maybe they should ask the more technologically-advanced Israelis for assistance.
Or the Palestinians could do it quickly by using their specialized bombing techniques.
"Go stand over there next to that tomb, kid."
I do believe that the fix is in and the Israelis will be accused of poisoning Arafat with Polonium [Atomic Number: 84, Atomic Weight: 209, Discovered: In 1898 by Marie Sklodowska Curie, Half life: 138.39 days.]
ReplyDeleteGiven the Half-life of Polonium and the fact that Arafat's widow Suha had an article of clothing that high levels of radioactive poison reportedly found on Arafat's belongings. The chances are that the Arabs are using this as a "reason" to claim that Arafat was poisoned instead of the truth that he died of complications from AIDS/HIV.
Expect to see pseudo-science and no reality in it.
I believe there was a Russian spy or something killed with polonium a few years back. I disremember any of the names, etc., and will not bother to research it out, but I seem to recall the Israleis were accused of that?? I could well be wrong.
ReplyDeleteYou are thinking of the Poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko an Russian Journalist who was murdered by Polonium on the orders of Putin not Israel.
ReplyDeleteIn fact it is his case that makes me very suspicious that Arafat could have been poisoned by Polonium due to the half-life, the effect of Polonium on others and the amount of Polonium on his clothing that should have sickened his widow, their daughter and every one else that came in contact with it.
On second/third thought, was it maybe instead Russians who did the killing and an Isralei died?? In any event, I seem to recall someone getting offed by polonium, and I believe the conjecture/evidence was that it was an umbrella tip that got him.
ReplyDeleteAn umbrella was used as an assassination device by the Bulgarian Secret Police in the assassination of Georgi Markov.
ReplyDeleteThe umbrella was designed and created by the KGB, and loaned to the Bulgarians. The hollow iridium pellet was filled with ricin with mimics the effects of influenza.
Markov died in hospital days later and it wasn't until an autopsy was performed that the pellet was found.
Findalis--thanx for straightning me up, shows what I know. Memory really is the first thing to go.
