A First-Hand Account of Obama in Milwaukee From Siarlys Jenkins

"I wanna give a shout out to my good friend, Siarlys Jenkins. Where are ya, Siarlys? Stand up."

Siarlys Jenkins (nom de plume), my top kibitzer, was actually present today to see Obama speak in Milwaukee. He gave me a running blow by blow in the comment section, which I think merits a post in itself.

Let me fill you in on his schedule in Wisconsin. By 11:30 am, people were lined up around ten blocks waiting to see him, roughly 3-5 across. Police had it organized so only two city blocks were closed to traffic, with ample parallel streets one block north and south. After some delays, the line started moving at a reasonable speed, and everyone remained in good spirits until we all filled the room at the Midwest/Frontier/Delta Airlines convention center. (There's been some consolidation among the sponsors). President Obama arrived about 3:15, to a tremendous roar of applause from around 3000+ people. He said everything that he needed to say. Basically, he's running for a second term to be the champion of those who don't have millions of dollars to spend on lobbyists, because for free enterprise to work, everyone needs to get the benefits. Everyone left fired up. We're going to carry this election Tuesday

That's right, Siarlys. He's doing it all for the little guy. Anyway congratulations to you for what was obviously the greatest day in your life. While you are basking in glory, he is giving the same BS to a crowd at some Jiffy Lube in Virginia.

PS: Who won the sausage race?

  1. I only read this blog because Siarlys comments on it.

  2. 703,

Why don't you communicate with him directly?

  3. Because the fun is in watching him debunk you.

  4. Only 3000 people were there? Romney has 30,000 show up every where.

    Like teachers, and unions?

  5. Its a rough guess Findalis. The venue was limited. If he was going to talk to 30,000, he would have needed Miller Park, where the Brewer's play, and the sausages race. Please document your use of the word "everywhere."

Unions are organizations of breadwinners for working families. Yes, there were real live union members there -- even a good section of the much maligned "white working class" which has had its integrity impugned by the insinuation that they are all voting for billionaires who make money closing plants and laying people off.

Face it Gary, we're the point/counterpoint of the early 21st century. Now if we could only get our own show. How about simultaneous broadcast on MSNBC, CNBC and Fox News?

  6. Siarlys, the great debunker, himself gets debunked with considerable frequency by Gary, me, and others as well.

  7. How many years ago was that, elwood?

(You and Gary are so long on vague generalities, so short on factual details.)
