Hat tip Investigative Project on Terrorism
It seems our elected leaders in Washington never learn the truth about these so-called "leading Muslim moderates" in the US. The Investigative Project on Terrorism has a disturbing report on who is visiting our White House and their backgrounds.

The article mentions the apostate issue in connection with a statement attributed to Muzammil Siddiqi. He is just one of over 100 Muslim leaders who were recipients of the Freedom Pledge, sent by Former Muslims United in 2009 and again this year asking them to sign a pledge that apostates in the US not be harmed. To date, only two people have signed it. None of them are mentioned in the above report.
To be fair, this problem of suspicious characters visiting the White House and other government institutions didn't start within the Obama administration. After 9-11, President Bush attempted to reach out to the so-called moderate leaders. The first one he invited to the White House was Siddiqi.
Since then, however, a lot of information has come out regarding organizations like CAIR-especially in light of the Holy Land Foundation trial, which concluded in 2007. What justification can there be for continuing to associate with these figures?
At best, that is like asking why we kept a military attache in Berlin in 1940. We weren't at war with Germany, Germany was a power in the world, we needed to keep our connections. It was even useful to Britain now and then.
ReplyDeleteOne American officer's resume includes that he was with the German Army marching into Belgium... which doesn't sound good, but it was in fact a dangerous assigment that provided extremely useful intelligence to the U.S. military.
