Rusty Kennedy
" A lonely voice standing against hate in Orange County"
(At $100,000 a year plus another $100,000 pension from the same job)
Orange County's fish wrap, the OC Register, today has a fawning article on Rusty Kennedy, the head of the Orange County Human Relations Commission, a white elephant organization that costs the tax payers $300,000 250,000 a year to fund. As I have written here before, it is a politically correct board that still thinks white racism is the big problem. Here is the article by David Whiting.
To read this article, you might conclude that Orange County is a nightmarish place where racist skin heads ride through the night looking for minorities to beat up on. Though incidents of that type can happen anywhere, just as the 1994 incident shows, Orange County, in my view, sets a darn good example of how people of diverse backgrounds can get along. Whiting should have written his article about Los Angeles and its gang wars. Moreover, don't think that Orange County is still a bastion of white conservatism and the John Birch Society. Today, the county is truly diverse. Irvine, one of the centers of this diversity, is annually rated as one of the safest cities in America. Not so much Rusty's home town, Fullerton, still reeling from the Kelly Thomas beating death and other police scandals. Rusty hasn't done much for that troubled place except jump in with sensitivity classes for the cops.

Yet, we still have this big commission of liberals under Kennedy highlighting every incident they can find where people of different backgrounds get into an altercation so they can justify their existence.
In 2008, I wrote to Kennedy complaining about what I considered a real problem on the UC Irvine campus that involved anti-Semitism, which was featured every May when the Muslim Student Union has their anti-Israel week of radical speakers. Because I criticized the university itself for not responding to this issue in spite of numerous complaints coming from Jewish students who had been harassed and intimidated, I got a stinging rebuke from Kennedy as he explained all the wonderful things he and his commission were doing.
This is the same Rusty Kennedy who traveled to Durban, South Africa to attend the UN Conference on Racism that focused on Israel as a violator of human rights. He also had time to help fete Yasser Arafat for winning the Nobel Peace Prize.
This is the same Rusty Kennedy who recently handed out one of his famous "Rusty" Community Leader awards to Muzammil Siddiqi, the imam at the Islamic Center of Orange County, who has a long litany of questionable declarations and associations.

So now, with the OCHRC under fire and slated for a phasing out in public funding, Whiting comes to Rusty's rescue with this article that reads like a chapter out of Mississippi Burning. The truth is that notwithstanding a few knuckleheads that the police can take care of, Orange County is doing quite well-no thanks to Kennedy and his gang of hacks.
