I have one of those Obama retro car magnets on my car now. It really stands out against the silver-grey exterior.
I've donated about all I'm going to, but there is nothing tacky about this. The stuff will be worthless, except to collectors, soon, and they want it on the street for the next few weeks. Also, any cash coming in will help right now.
I may get a few more when the price drops further, to have something in mint condition to show my sister's grandchildren.
A friend of mine picked up a few McGovern-Eagleton buttons from a dumpster in 1972. I think I still have the one he gave me. I remained an Eagleton loyalist, although I did vote for the watered-down McGovern. At least he would have ended the war sooner, and maybe with less disastrous consequences.

I'll wait until after the election when everything is dirt cheap to pick up my collectables. Perhaps they will throw them out instead.
