Green Fortunes

Crescent Dunes Solar Tower  outside Tonopah, Nevada
$737 million in stimulus funds-built by Torresol of Spain

The Washington Post, hardly a conservative newspaper, has a fascinating article on how Al Gore has profited from his Global Warming scam-yes scam.

Wait a minute!

"Iberdrola Renovables, a wind subsidiary largely owned by the Spanish electricity giant Iberdrola, received $1.5 billion for 20 wind farms it built across the United States."

And solar towers, perhaps?

Here is a previous article by Scott Rhymer on the Nevada project.

It seems that Iberdrola has some interests in Nevada. What is their connection, if any, to the Tonopah solar tower that I stumbled across in a Tonopah bar last year? That project involved a $735 billion stimulus project given to Solar Reserve, an investment partner with Pacific Corporate Group, whose number 2 man is   Ron Pelosi-yes, Nancy Pelosi's brother-in-law. Who hired all those Spanish workers from Torresol Energy using Stimulus funds to come to Nevada to build the Crescent Dunes project?

Here is an interesting tidbit, which may or may not mean anything.

http://grist.org/article/no-on-prop-23-campaign-takes-in-5-million-to-oil-industrys-10000/

"Renewable energy companies stepped to the plate as well. The U.S. division of Spanish wind giant Iberdrola Renewables gave $25,000; Santa Monica-based Solar Reserve, a developer of solar power plants, pitched in $50,000; and Google executive Jonathan Rosenberg contributed $10,000."

That could be a coincidence, of course.

According to the below Daily Caller article, there is also a link between Mr Pelosi and George Kaiser, Obama bundler, contributor and investor in Solyndra.

http://dailycaller.com/2011/09/29/more-solar-companies-led-by-democratic-donors-received-federal-loan-guarantees/

"The Hill newspaper reported Wednesday that the Santa Monica, Calif.-based SolarReserve has secured a $737 million loan guarantee from the Department of Energy for a Nevada solar project.
That company has ties to George Kaiser, the Oklahoma billionaire who raised $53,500 for President Obama’s campaign in 2008. Through his Argonaut Private Equity firm, Kaiser holds a majority stake in Solyndra."
There is a definite connection between Solar Reserve and Santander, the Spanish financial giant, in the construction of the Tonopah solar tower.

http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/solarreserve-completes-financing-for-advanced-technology-solar-power-project-in-nevada-130717148.html

"As part of the project financing, SolarReserve is joined as investors in the project by ACS Cobra, a worldwide leader in the engineering and construction of power plants and thermal solar facilities, and the equity capital practice of Santander, a global financial services and banking leader. The project also closed on $737 million in project debt along with a loan guarantee from the U.S. Department of Energy."

All this of course, may be fodder for conspiracy theorists, but it seems to me that it merits further inquiry. The more we learn about this green energy business that the White House has been pushing for their favored clients, and the more we learn about Al Gore's exploding fortune, the smellier it gets. Gore himself may have nothing to do with the Nevada/Spain project. He may just be a separate star in the same rotten galaxy. Or there may be more dots to connect.

Stay tuned.

  1. It has been revealed that there has been no warming in the last 16 years and that the hole in the ozone layer over Antarctica is closing. Add to that news the original evidence was faked by the scientists and we get a scam upon the world.

Perhaps Al Gore should be arrested for perpetrating a public fraud.

  3. They, the "scientists," were just as convinced, "practically unanimous" that the earth would cool to disastrous levels in the 1970s. They have no explanation for the warming and cooling periods of the earth before the industrial revolution or even before recorded human history.

It is a colossal ripoff by the liberals who have a need to discover or create a "crises" that the government MUST fix immediately. It goes from the "danger" of second hand smoke to dodge ball, bullying, to peanuts (11 dead in all of 2005 from every type of allergy, both adult and children). Yet they are willing to bankrupt the country to address these hysterical, exaggerated, claims. I suppose there is a buck or two in there to be made in the process.

I'm down to the point of hoping we can make it as a nation, after all this corruption and crony capitalism to inauguration day. Another 4 years of this would doom this country.

This is what you get when liberals govern.
