As we know, the past week saw a protest in Paris. (No, it wasn't a teachers strike.) The gendarmes made over 100 arrests. The French blog, Gallia Watch, has posted a rather indignant article on the take over of the Champs de L'Elysees by protesters.

A note about the French translation of Arabic chants. The French sub-titles say that the crowd was chanting, "slaughter the Jews" (6 times). What I heard was the chant, "Khaybar, Khaybar ah Yahud." "Yahud" is Arabic for Jew. Khaybar refers to a battle in the Prophet's time in which Jews in the town of Khaybar (present-day Saudi Arabia) were killed by Muslim armies. However you slice it, it is an anti-Jewish chant. One may ask why Jews were being singled out here.

I wonder how fast the French will capitulate to the Muslims this time. A French newspaper just published a Muhammad cartoon.
