Professor Says Jesus Was a Muslim

(Hat tip Right Truth)

If you are attending Luther College in Iowa, you might want to sign up for one of their courses in revisionist history, as taught by Professor Robert Shedinger.  Shedinger has a book out whose thesis is that Jesus was a Muslim.

Here's a fun fact for Professor Shedinger. Islam came along some 6 or 7 centuries after Christ.

Now before some wise guy comes along and points out that I am missing the "deeper meaning" of Schedinger's thesis (I am not very good when it comes to deeper meanings), let me state that I get what he is trying to say. Yet, I still would like to point out some more "fun facts" here. How many have ever heard of this quote attributed to Jesus?

"Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone."

Question: Who did Jesus ever kill?

Whom did Jesus ever order killed?

What army did Jesus ever lead?

If one were to apply Mr Shedinger's "logic", we could come up with some other very interesting hypotheses, such as;

Babe Ruth,  who hit those 714 home runs while juiced up on beer and hot dogs, was a "steroid user".

Of course, whenever anyone uses that term, "social justice", you know something boffo is coming next. Most people who use that term either believe in a totalitarian  order or total anarchy, which shows just how muddled their thinking is. If the professor wants to make the case that Islam stands for social justice (which it claims to do) than we need to set aside certain Western concepts of  justice, such as equal rights for women, homosexuals, religious minorities, and certain freedoms, such as freedom of speech and freedom of religion.

But what's the use of debating with some guy who thinks Babe Ruth was on steroids?

"Say it ain't so, Babe."

  1. I'm more interested in the thesis that Jesus studied Buddhism, which is at least chronologically feasible.

I believe deep meanings and nuance are worth looking for. But, somewhere, deep down, there has to be something plausible if not verifiable. "Jesus was a Muslim" ain't it.

  2. How about John Locke studied Islam? That's a big talking point these days.

  3. How about these idiots read the New Testament first? I could understand if Jesus studied or was taught some Buddhism. (BTW many of the teachings of Buddha doesn't counter those of Judaism.), but to call Jesus a Muslim when Islam wasn't invented until 700 years after his death is stretching things too much.

This is on the line of No Jews ever lived in the Holy Land until 1800. This lie is being pushed upon the world by the Muslim world. Not true but will become canon law by the left in a few weeks.

  4. What left? Thanks to Gary's anti-union friends, there is hardly a working class movement left to take a position. If you are talking about the nascent Elloi class that fancies itself the heir to the Progressive Movement, they have their head in the clouds, but they are not "left."

An orthodox rabbi once told me that Gautama and his associates learned a great deal about the nature of our universe, which is quite consistent with Judaism, only they missed the existence of a Creator.
